Heyy everyone! Yesterday was FINALLY a snow day. On Sunday it finally snowed in Wisconsin! (It sure took long enough) I'm guessing that I should keep going with the story I was writing the last time I had school. Maybe I should skip the story and just keep talking about the snow. IT'S, LIKE, A FOOT AND A HALF DEEP! It's crazy that it can snow that much in one day... but that's Wisconsin for you. Anyway I was just kidding about not writing the story. I'll get to writing that now.
The man walked me up the twisted stairs he took me to a small room in the very back of the hallway. The door was so heavy that I began to wonder if the door was made out of some kind of lead. After getting the door open, I made my way into the room without a sound. It was a dark musty room with small barely burning candles to keep the room slightly lit.
There was a loud crash. Startled I turned around. The man had closed the door and again, I was all on my own. I looked around myself to see my surroundings. There was only a desk and a bed, each in opposite corners of the room. The candles were placed on the desk, giving the room a uneasy glow.
I decided that it was time for me to go to bed. Then hopefully in the morning the man would help me get back to town. I laid down in the bed, unaware of how sleepy I had been. Sleep was followed soon after my head hit the pillow.
I woke with a start, the candles had fallen off the desk and the room was pitch black. I saw something move out of the corner of my eye, but when I looked over to see what is was, it had ducked behind the desk. It had looked like the shadowed outline of a child.
I jumped to my feet and walked closer to the desk, grabbing one of the candles that had fallen over onto the floor, I tried to light it. The shadow came slowly out from behind the desk and walked closer slowly. The way it walked made me uneasy, there was just something wrong about it.
Lightning struck the ground nearby and I finally saw the child's face. I jumped back in horror. Her eyes seemed to have no life in them what so ever, they were cold and black. She had long black hair and was about nine or ten. She had blood dripping down her face and had it splattered all along her arm. Her white nightgown was drenched red. My eyes finally dropped to catch a glimpse of her hand before the lightning escaped my eyes. The girl was holding a knife.
I fell back onto the bed, every muscle in my body stopped working, and my breath was getting harder and harder to catch. The girl walked closer and closer, when she was about a foot away from me a could hear her laughing. I knew it was over, I couldn't move, every single part of my body acted like it was broken. My body was frozen in fear.
Then the door swung open, reviling the man that had owned the house. He grabbed the young girl by the shoulders and then leaned over to whisper something in her ear. Her eyes seemed to gain some life to them and she dropped the knife onto the hardwood floor. I was horrified. She scanned the room, then after meeting eyes with me she nodded her head in acknowledgement and walked out of the room.
After the girl was gone, the man turned to me to apologize, "I'm very sorry about this happening," he said with a calm voice, "but this seems to happen from time to time." He then turned around to walk out of the room, he quietly grumbled to himself, "I must check on the other guests. I must check on the other guests."
I was in such a state of shock that I laid back down and fell asleep almost immediately. There was a problem though, you see. I don't ever remember waking up.
THE END
